Data Processing

The Bachelor’s in Data Science and Business Analytics at NIT is developed using Arizona State University’s (ASU)curriculum and offers a 3+1 dual degree pathway with both NIT and The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University (ASU).

This program integrates technical expertise with strategic business insight, offering a strong foundation in programming, data structures, mathematics, and statistics, and advancing into machine learning, big data, business intelligence, and enterprise analytics—equipping students with the tools to lead in data-driven industries.

Early coursework covers programming in Python and R, data structures, business fundamentals, and ethical considerations. As students progress, they delve into data visualization, machine learning, business intelligence, and statistical modeling. Specialized courses in artificial intelligence, enterprise analytics, and big data empower students to extract meaningful insights for real-world decision-making.

 

The program emphasizes a holistic approach, incorporating sustainability, behavioral dynamics, and innovation in society, fostering a well-rounded perspective. An internship enhances hands-on experience, while capstone projects allow students to tackle real-world challenges.

DUAL DEGREE PATHWAY - 3+1 PROGRAMS

Students can complete all four years at NIT or pursue the 3+1 pathway, spending their final year at ASU—either online or on-campus—and graduate with two internationally recognized degrees: a Bachelor’s in Data Science and Business Analytics from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), and a B.S. in Data Science from The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University (ASU). This dual credential positions graduates for global careers at the intersection of technology, business, and data-driven decision-making

PRACTICAL LEARNING EXPERIENCE

ADMISSIONS TO EARN THE DEGREE IN DATA SCIENCE Bachelo BY THE COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS AND SCIENCES AT ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY (ASU)

Minimum transfer Grade Point Average (GPA): Transfer students must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative transfer GPA (with a 3.00 GPA in core competency coursework (4.00 = "A").

Proof of English proficiency: 61 iBT TOEFL; 6.0 IELTS; PTE 53; Duolingo 95 or equivalent; Global Launch’s online English for Undergraduate Admission or full-time English Language Program (campus or online immersion).

ADMISSIONS AT NIT

Candidates for the National Institute of Technology (NIT) are selected based on the following criteria:

  1. Academic Background (minimum 12-13 years of education)

  2. Online Application Submission (including submission of supporting documents like Personal Statement, Letters of Recommendation etc.) + Admission Application Fee Payment

  3. SAT Score (optional)

  4. Application Review + Interview (if shortlisted)

 

Meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee admission, as selection is competitive. Note that admission decisions are final, and are not subject to modification.

Matriculation/Intermediate Requirements

Applicants must have studied Mathematics and two other subjects with a minimum of 60% marks.  

 

Cambridge International (O & A Levels)

 

O Level: Eight subjects (English, Mathematics, Urdu, Islamiyat, Pakistan Studies + 3 electives), with an average of grade C. (Additional Mathematics does not count as an elective)  

 

A Level: Three principal subjects, including Mathematics, with an average of grade C. (Further Mathematics and General Paper are excluded.)  

 

OR

 

International Baccalaureate (IB) 

  • Minimum 30/45 points, with Mathematics at Higher Level (HL).  

  • English is compulsory; CAS and TOK must be completed.  

  • Students must also pass Urdu, Islamiyat, and Pakistan Studies (via O-Level/SSC/IB).  

 

OR

 

High School Diploma (HSD)

  • Minimum 60% overall, with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.  

  • English is required, along with four principal electives in grades 9–12.

  • Students must also pass Urdu, Islamiyat, and Pakistan Studies (via O-Level/SSC/HSD)
